Reflexology

Reflexology is a practice that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet and hands known as “reflex points,” which correspond to all the organs and systems in the body. The idea behind reflexology is that these reflex points act like a map of the body and in natural way address any imbalances in the body. By applying pressure to these reflex points, reflexologists aim to promote health and well-being, relieve stress, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Reflexology is beneficial for those who experience difficulties with anxiety and sleep disorders, digestive problems, headaches or migraines, hormone imbalance, skin problems, joint and muscle pain. These benefits can also be long term, particularly for clients with chronic health conditions. Reflexology works well to help the client manage the symptoms of their illness. Reflexology offers a gentle, non-invasive approach that complements conventional medical treatments, often enhancing their efficacy without side effects.

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) is an award-winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. It is a gentle, effective method which has been researched and developed Sally Kay BSc(Hons) while working in Cancer Care.

The goal is to stimulate the lymphatic system in the body. This technique has been shown to stimulate and encourage the draining of excess lymph fluid from the body. It is based on the practice of traditional massage lymph drainage (MLD) which is used in most outpatient breast cancer clinics for the treatment of secondary lymphedema. It is also found to be effective for people with primary lymphedema and chronic conditions where inflammation is underlying and the lymphatic system needs help to balance.
